Where this technology fits
Health & Psychology
Exposure therapy in controlled environments, multisensory stimulation, psychomotor rehabilitation and clinical simulation.
In exposure therapy the therapist needs something reality does not provide: control. Being able to grade the intensity, stop at any moment, and repeat exactly the same situation the following week. Virtual reality gives precisely that.
Our Sensory Room project works along those lines: a virtual room where children with cognitive diversity receive stimuli of different shapes and colours and carry out exercises to improve their psychomotor skills and reinforce what they have learned.
On the assessment side, NeoCK is a simulator designed by a team of researchers in psychology, pedagogy and neuroscience to train and assess soft skills. It is multiplayer and carries a session management and control system: whoever runs it sees what is happening inside and can step in.
These tools support the professional’s work; they do not replace their judgement and do not in themselves constitute a treatment.
